Case study · Web · Wedding Celebrant · 2026

Wed by Wedd

A wedding celebrant and MC in North London who writes every ceremony from scratch. The site needed to feel as warm and personal as he is in the room: editorial design, full-bleed photography, a tailored enquiry form and his five-star Hitched reviews built in.

Client

Brayden Wedd, independent wedding celebrant and MC based in North London.

Scope

Brand direction, full bespoke build, tailored enquiry form, photography-led art direction, reviews and SEO across every region he covers.

Stack

Hand-built front end, no template or page builder. Fraunces and Instrument Sans typography, a responsive WebP image pipeline, scroll-reveal motion and a custom enquiry form.

The brief

Brayden writes and delivers weddings the way a good friend would: easy-going on the surface, carefully planned underneath. He started out as a celebrant in Australia and brought the same approach to London. The work is personal, so a stock template that looked like every other celebrant directory listing was never going to do it justice.

He needed a site that did the introducing for him before a couple ever picked up the phone: warm, confident and quietly funny, with the photography front and centre and the proof — five stars from every couple who has reviewed him — easy to find. It also had to make enquiring effortless and capture the right details up front, since a celebrant's diary lives or dies on the date.

What I built

  • ·A bespoke, editorial homepage built from scratch around his voice. Large Fraunces display type, a warm ivory palette and full-bleed wedding photography that carries the whole page. No template, no page builder.
  • ·Clear sections for the three ways couples book him — ceremony, master of ceremonies, or both — plus an honest, four-step "how it works" that takes the mystery out of hiring a celebrant.
  • ·A tailored enquiry form that asks for what actually matters: both partners' names, the wedding date and location, and whether they want a celebrant, an MC or both. The right details land in his inbox first time, so he can check the date and reply.
  • ·Social proof woven through the page: a 5.0 rating from his couples, a curated wall of "kind words" with expandable reviews, and a direct link to his verified Hitched profile.
  • ·A photography gallery of recent weddings, art-directed so the images do the selling, with everything cropped and optimised to stay fast.
  • ·A plain-English FAQ that answers what couples really ask — what a celebrant does, the legal paperwork, travel, cost — handled as a clean accordion so the page stays calm.
  • ·Local SEO built for reach: he works across Greater London, Hertfordshire, Essex, Kent, Surrey, Hampshire and beyond — and still takes selected weddings back in Australia — so the site is structured to be found in every one of them.
  • ·A fast, lightweight build with a responsive WebP image pipeline and tasteful scroll-reveal motion. It loads quickly and reads beautifully on a phone, which is where most couples find him.

The result

A site that sounds like Brayden, not like a directory listing. Couples land on full-bleed photography, read his story, see the five-star reviews, and send an enquiry with the date already in hand. It looks like a premium wedding brand and runs like a fast, modern site — and it gives him somewhere of his own to send every couple who finds him on Instagram or Hitched.
